March Events at the Edmonton Convention Centre

Edmonton’s Edmonton Convention Centre (SCC) hosts half a million guests at over 600 events annually, including the following public events taking place in March.

Mar 2-3 Greater Edmonton Teacher’s Convention
Nearly 6,000 teachers will descend on downtown Edmonton to become aware of new knowledge and trends in teaching and school organization.

Mar 6 High School Culinary Challenge Awards Dinner
Over the last nine years, Edmonton’s Canadian Culinary Federation High School Culinary Challenge has seen more than 105 high school teams turn up the heat in the kitchen to compete for gold. The dinner will recognize this year’s scholarship winners and culinary champions.

Mar 7-8 Spring Mayors’ Caucus
The Alberta Urban Municipalities Association holds its annual spring caucus for mayors across the province.

Mar 9-10 Central East Alberta Teacher’s Convention
Nearly 1,200 teachers come together for two full days of learning and professional development.

Mar 10 KO Boxing 78
Don’t miss the first KO Boxing fight card of the year. The night will feature eight bouts, including heavyweight match Stan Ahumada Surmacz vs. Tim Chemelli.

Mar 11-12 Hempfest Cannabis EXPO
The Hempfest Cannabis Expo will provide an environment for industry pioneers to learn more about patients, consumers, industry members, entrepreneurs, local leaders, and job seekers.

March 14 Canadian Business Leader Award Dinner
Each year since 1982, the Alberta School of Business and its Business Advisory Council (BAC) have presented the Canadian Business Leader Award to a Canadian of distinction. This year, the award will be presented to Elyse Allan, President and CEO of General Electric (GE) Canada.

Mar 16 Mother Mother
Don’t miss seeing Vancouver alt-rockers Mother Mother live in Edmonton. They’ll be joined by special guests American alternative indie and hip hop singer-songwriter K. Flay and Calgary’s own Beach Season.

Mar 16-19 4-H Centennial Western Regional Leaders’ Forum (WRLF)
For the first time since its introduction in 1966, WRLF will be held in Canada! 4-H Alberta is excited to welcome hundreds of leaders and members from across the province and the western United States into Edmonton this spring. As part of the centennial celebrations, the forum will also combine a leaders’ conference and teen track (formerly Senior Members’ Conference) into one big event with four days of sessions, speakers and fun.

Mar 18 Awards of Excellence in Housing
The Awards of Excellence in housing celebrates and applauds the industry’s finest. The achievements of CHBA-ER members are showcased during a spectacular gala event at the Edmonton Convention Centre for over 1,600 people.

Mar 20-22 Alberta Association of Municipal Districts Spring Tradeshow & Convention
Delegates from member municipalities around Alberta are invited to hear plenary speakers, participate in breakout sessions and vote on the resolutions that guide the AAMDC’s advocacy efforts.

Mar 24-25 Edmonton’s International Beerfest
With over 200 beers available for tasting, a whole new line-up of entertainment, and Edmonton’s most popular and best beer serving establishments represented, this year is shaping up to be a blast. The event has sold out six years straight, so get your tickets early!

Mar 25 Advertising Club of Edmonton (ACE) Awards
For over 35 years, the ACE Awards Show has been the only advertising creative award show in Edmonton. The event is the largest annual gathering of advertising, marketing, communications and public relations professionals in our community.

Mar 31 I Love The 90s Tour
The inaugural edition of I Love The ’90s Tour invites attendees to reminisce about the trend-setting decade with some of the most iconic, indelible names in rap, hip hop and R&B. Salt-N-Pepa with Spinderella, Vanilla Ice, Color Me Badd, Young MC and Rob Base compose this year’s lineup of iconic 90s artists.
